What’s your plan for 2025? Yikes…don’t answer that because I presume you’re already past that stage, right?
Hey Besties,
You should have received this dump earlier but your chief contributor had to prepare some chicken stew and rice. Plus, you know there’ll be some coleslaw, right? I almost lost my fingers shredding the carrots and feared that I wouldn’t be able to write to the community but this is a ‘no slack’ year!
If you haven’t noticed, the air is bubbly with resolutions and screams to ‘go harder in 2025’, if you’re like me, then you planned your 2025 in November/December 2023 and you’re way ahead of this cred of shouters.
If you didn’t, it’s totally okay ( Nope! It’s not okay but let’s pretend you didn’t just read this!).
What to do next?
Ask yourself; “What can I do differently to yield the results I am looking for at this point in my tech career and life?”
The problem with a New Year is that the consistent pressure to have a long list of goals and milestones will have you hitting rock bottom before you even learn to crawl. You’ll end up getting stuck in the same vicious cycle of exhaustion from feeling overwhelmed.
So, here’s what you’re going to do: Ditch the long list, heck! you really don’t need to cut anyone off! What you need is not another long list and January 1st announcements across your social media. What you need is STRUCTURES AND SYSTEMS.
New Leaps, New Goals, Same You!
I know that you hate to hear that a new year doesn’t necessarily mean a new you but I am going to scream it anyway. You’re the same unproductive, lazy, lackadaisical, procrastinator who’s never intentional about growth and development, only survival and salary – If you’re not this person, then I’m glad you didn’t catch the sub!
How do you take higher leaps if you keep crawling like a snail? Well, I can show you how in three steps but you’re gonna get your arse off the ground first;
Switch it up: Decide to stop playing small and draw the blueprint for whom you want to become.
Set up structures: You may not be lazy. What you struggle with is a structure that fits your working style and living conditions. Set up a structure that has you showing up even when you’re asleep and keeps you accountable when you’re not.
Scale the blueprint: Change is constant but growth is a variable. How you decide to be perceived or recognized depends on this variable. One goal and one action plan is all it takes…1% every day in 100 days is 100%– better than nothing, right?
So, what’s it going to be? Are you going to get to work on one goal over an exhaustive list? Are you going to build a structure that ensures your career and life beyond the ‘New Year’ shenanigans? Are you going to grow by 1% every day?
If you answered yes, then you have earned my ‘Happy New Year, Bestie’
If you’re still unsure about how to get into it, send me an email or reply in the comments and you’ll hear back from me! I’d love to help you and hey! It’s FREE! – that’s a part of the freebies for being a part of the community!
Whew! In the meantime, I need to eat some more before I resume the gym. I can’t wait to write to you again, Besties.
Happy New Year!
With Love,
